Join the Pitt Panthers Strength and Conditioning Staff as they host strength and conditioning camps on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The goals of the Pitt strength and conditioning camps coincide with those for our Pitt student-athletes. We will train hard for competition building not only strong bodies, but also strong minds to overcome any opponent or obstacle we face. Stronger muscles are more resilient to injury and fire faster longer; therefore, we will remain healthier and outlast every competitor.
PITT STRENGTH & CONDITIONING GOALS
Minimize the risk of injury by tailoring training specifically to the biomechanical and physiological demands of each individual sport, and performing corrective movement patterns and injury prevention exercises pertinent to common risks of each sport.
Maximize athletic performance using multiple modalities and variety in exercise selection to continually create a new stimulus. Training is designed to progressively overload student-athletes, giving them the tools necessary to better execute the skills expected in their sport for longer durations of time.
Create a competitive team environment of toughness and relentlessness by encouraging daily competition against self, regular competition within team, and team challenges. Workouts will be created to encourage communication and leadership development and to prepare athletes to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations. Everyone is great when it is Sunny and 75; Pitt is trained to be great regardless the environment or situation.
